The Czech Republic is situated approximately in the geographical center of Europe. It is a landlocked country 326 km from the Baltic and 322 km from the Adriatic. It shares borders with Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia .One of the most stable and prosperous of the post-Communist states, the Czech Republic has been recovering from recession. The performance of the Czech economy in recent years has been influenced by the 1997 currency crisis and the subsequent restrictive macroeconomic stabilization package.
