Dominica
was the last of the Caribbean islands to be colonized
by Europeans. Apart from its natural splendors, including
the highest mountains in the Eastern Caribbean, Dominica
has an interesting fusion of British, French and West
Indian cultural traditions, and is home to the Eastern
Caribbean's largest Carib Indian community. Located
between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean,
about one-half of the way from Puerto Rico to Trinidad
and Tobago.
